  1. A vote is an expression of opinion by ballot, 
  2. show of hands, or other means. In systems 
  3. that employ direct vote, the plebiscite and 
  4. referendum are fundamental mechanisms. In 
  5. parliamentary elections the results can be 
  6. calculated in a differnet number of ways. The 
  7. age of 18 has now been adopted by most 
  8. countries, but a few have adopted an even 
  9. lower figure. The age qualification in Iran 
  10. for presidential elections is 15. To be able
  11. to vote in the USA is also 18+.
